Halloween Dance partyA Halloween dance party is being held for area middle school students Friday, Oct. 21.
The party for fifth and sixth graders runs from 3:45 to 5:45 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. for seventh and eighth graders at the Mount Vernon Middle School.
Activities include the Monster Ball with music being spun by Jeremy McCullum, cupcake walk, face painting, pumpkin decorating, bingo and more. Admission is $5, which includes a glow bracelet. Concessions are also available for purchase.
Leaf-It fundraiser The Mount Vernon seventh grade class wants to rake your yard for free. Contact Patty Mote at the Mount Vernon Middle School (319)-895-6524 with your name, address of your home or business, phone number and email. Deadline to sign up is Monday, Oct. 31. Priority will be given to the elederly and homebound. Students will be out raking Thursday, Nov. 3.
Trunk or Treat MV
High School CareThe Mount Vernon High School CARE Team will be holding a trunk or treat event for elementary students from 4-6 p.m. The event will be held at the Mount Vernon High School parking lot (behind the Mount Vernon High School building).
Donations of pads and Tampons are welcome for Mount Vernon High School students.
