The Lisbon varsity volleyball team went 6-1 last week, going 3-0 against the visiting Prince of Peace, and picking up a key 3-1 victory against rivals North Cedar on the road. The Lions are now 31-2 as the regular season begins to wrap.
Tuesday, Oct. 4
The Lions won against Prince of Peace in a 25-18, 25-11, 25-8 showing. Senior Kali Nelson led in assists with 17 in the game. Ava Czarnecki had 3.7 kills in the bout. Peyton Robinson led the Lions with blocks and digs with one block and 11 digs.
Thursday, Oct. 6The Lions won against North Cedar in four matches, 25-5, 27-29, 25-20, 25-19.
Nelson again provided the most assists with 28. Czarnecki again led in kills with 4.8 in the game.Clark had the most blocks with 3, and Czarnecki led in digs with 23.
Clark also had 1.5 service aces in the match.
Postseason
The volleyball postseason brackets have been released for Class 2A. Lisbon has a bye in first round play in Class 2A Region 6, and will host the winner of Colfax-Mingo and East Marshall. That game will be played at Lisbon Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m.
The next match will be played Monday, Oct. 24, again at Lisbon. The Class 2A Region 6 final will be played Wednesday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. at a location yet to be determined.
