Work on Walnut Street completed
The council also approved some chip seal work to Walnut Street as part of a special meeting Monday, Sept. 19.
The cost of the chip seal bid was $11,700.
Lisbon city administrator Brandon Siggins brought the bid to council to take advantage of companies doing work at the new sports complex.
“This will save us roughly $3,000 in mobilization costs, as the company is right here,” Siggins said.
The city did not chip seal Walnut Street when work was done earlier in the spring, knowing the sports complex work would add more traffic to the street. The street has seen two blowups recently, and with work by contractors finishing at the sports complex, it was an ideal time to complete the work. As well, the work was getting completed before temperatures dipped too cold.
Siggins said that the work has already finished on chip sealing the street and the road looks really nice in the two blocks north of Market Street.
