The City of Lisbon will be revamping how downtown reinvestment grants are used.
The City will be increasing the amount awarded for outdoor and indoor construction projects for businesses. The amount per applicant will increase.
As well, the program will switch to year round, not just a program awarded only in a certain time frame each year.
City administrator Brandon Siggins said some of the issues with the program have been increased construction costs, as well as contractors being busy with a number of projects that have kept some from applying.
The hope is that with these changes, more people will try to receive funding from the grant to make improvements to their businesses and spaces in the downtown.
