Lloyd Marvin Hughes, 86, of Lisbon, entered eternity Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2022 while under the care of Cedar Manor Nursing Home in Tipton. A funeral mass, officiated by Fr. Richard Okumu, will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Mechanicsville, Monday, Sept. 26, 2022 at 10:30 a.m., immediately followed by a graveside service with military honors at Rose Hill Cemetery. Lloyd, son of Walter Lewis and Irene Stoneking Hughes was born May 19, 1936, in Marion. Graduated from Mount Vernon in 1955. He served his country in the US Army. Lloyd was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Griffin. He worked maintenance for Iowa DOT for 30 years. He loved mowing and plowing snow. Lloyd and Ruth are members of St. Mary’s in Mechanicsville.
Lloyd is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruth Ann Hughes of Lisbon; children Paul (Abbi Swanson), Arizona, Carolyn (Joe) Owens, Mechanicsville, and Patti and (Bill) Stewart, Lisbon; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Winfield and Richard.
