Who’s ready to race for some pie?
The annual Run for Pie 5K and mile fun run walk will be taking place again this Saturday, Sept. 17, in Lisbon.
The race begins and ends at Lisbon City Park on Saturday morning, with a start time of 9 a.m. Registration on race day takes place from 7 to 8:30 a.m. Cost for the race is now $35 for the 5K race with a t-shirt (which can not be guaranteed at this point) or $20 for just registering for the race with no T-shirt.
While other races might give you a ribbon or medal you don’t know what to do with, this raqce will hand every finisher a piece of freshly-baked church-lady apple pie.
Plus, the top three female and male finishers in each age group (14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 and over) receive their choice of a home-baked pie to take home.
A Half Mile Kids Fun Run will begin at 9:45 and take place within the park grounds. Cost for the half mile kids fun run is $25 for race with t-shirt or $10 just to run in the race with no t-shirt.
The event is chip-timed with bib-chips and individual results will be available for printouts following the race.
A water station is located just before the halfway turnaround point.
All proceeds support the education of impoverished children in rural Haiti.
