The Mount Vernon varsity volleyball squad kicked off their season at home as they hosted the WaMaC quad last Thursday.
The Mustangs won against first Clear Creek Amana in two sets, and then Center Point-Urbana, also in two.

Clear Creek-AmanaIn their face-off with the Blue Raiders, the Mustangs showed up ready to play.
Senior Madeleine Miller set her team up for success with 28 assists, but it was sophomore Chloe Meester who provided the fireworks, with 5.5 kills per set, and more than one of them likely keeping the visiting team up at night.
Kameron Brand, a senior, was key for the Mustangs with seven digs and an ace serve in each set.

Center Point-Urbana The Stormin’ Pointers from Center Point-Urbana played the host team a little tighter, but the Mustangs came out on top in two sets again, 25-19, and 25-17.
Miller had 21 assists over the two sets, while Chloe Meester was good for 14 kills.
Senior Kyla Vaughn chipped in with three key blocks, and sophomore Jaden Rolland provided six digs and three ace serves to the effort.
