The City of Mount Vernon will host a public meeting to continue the discussion of the wayfinding signage study which was introduced in May of 2022. The study will consider and develop a new informational and directional signage system for Mount Vernon. The signage study may also recommend markers, gateways, and other wayfinding elements to complement the overall signage system. The study will look to establish a common aesthetic with material vocabulary for wayfinding elements throughout the community with a focus on drawing visitors into downtown Mount Vernon from the new Highway 30 interchange.
The public meeting will be held on Monday, Aug. 22, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the meeting room at the Mount Vernon-Lisbon Police Department located at 380 Old Lincoln Highway, Mount Vernon.
Members of the public are invited to attend these meetings and will be provided with an opportunity to engage and provide input on this study.
