More than 300 runners and walkers participated in the first Glyn Mawr’s The Local Wine Run/Walk 5K Saturday, July 16, in uptown Mount Vernon.
First place overall top finisher and top male finisher in the race was Klayten Perreault, with a time of 20:02.
His mother, Emily Perreault, was the overall top female finisher with a time of 21:38. She finished in sixth place overall.
Each overall division winner in their age groups were also able to get a gold medal to go with their individual medals, which at the bottom resembled a wine stopper.
Participants were also able to obtain a glass of wine in a tumbler following the race or non- alcoholic beverage, and food truck from Morning Glory were offering breakfast and brunch items throughout the morning.
The event concluded with the Better Haves performing a live concert at the show, and participants were able to purchase more wine and other items from The Local.
