Repairs have been made to the first barn at Nature Park, with a total of $10,950 for repairs to stabilize the barn. Curt Blinks finished the work, and the additional $3,950 over the $7,000 estimate were for two unexpected but needed repairs – the door’s new header and concrete removal for the silo.
Blinks is getting ready to move the Gable barn, but his estimate for that work is $42,500.
Blinks said he isn’t sure if that barn is worth saving, and will report to city administrator Brandon Siggins after he has further evaluated the level of damage in the interior.
“I don’t think it is beyond repair, but I haven’t been able to look,” Blinks said.
Council member Sara Nost thanked Blinks for his honesty on the barns and looked forward to hearing his report.
Council member John Bardsley asked that Blinks keep Lisbon Historic Preservation in the loop on the process before any choice on the barn is made, as there are other possible grants for preservation available.
