Union Pacific will be completing repair work on a number of railroad crossings in Lisbon over the Fourth of July weekend.
According to Mount Vernon-Lisbon police chief Doug Shannon, the work will begin Thursday, June 30.
Union Pacific will be closing Gillette Lane crossing Thursda to make repairs. This closure is expected to last two days.
After work completes at the Gillette Lane crossing, crews will move east to work at the crossing at North Washington Street, with work there expected to begin Friday or Saturday. Work on the Washington Street crossing will take two to three days to complete.
The crews will then move east to the Hoosier Road crossing, where they will work on improvements to that crossing as well, which are expected to take two to three days to complete.
Citizens should seek other routes for those crossings during the closures, and law enforcement and first responders have been informed of the impacted crossings being closed for repairs.
