Two free, family- friendly events are coming up on the front lawn of the First Street
Community Center (FSCC). Local music favorite, Laid Back Band, will play 6 -9 pm Friday, June 24. On site will be Big’s BBQ offering charcuterie boards for sale.
On Wednesday, July 6, an event titled “Mount Vernon-Lisbon & ME” will feature local storytellers including the Mount Vernon-Lisbon chief of police and an immigrant from El Salvador. Music by the Mississippi String Band is also on the program. Storytelling begins at 6pm with music starting at 5:30pm.
Bring lawn chairs and coolers and enjoy both events! If there is rain, events will move indoors to the FSCC theatre.
