Lisbon council member Mike Williams queried as to how nuisance complaints are investigated by the city at the May 23 meeting.
Williams noted that there are a number of lawns that are over the allowed height in the community of Lisbon at the moment, and several of the nuisances are from the same residences again this year.
City administrator Brandon Siggins said he handles many of the nuisance issues in the community of Lisbon.
“Currently, we have seven yards that have lawns over the allowed height, and I have been in communication with those residents,” Siggins said.
Siggins said that Linn County will be presenting a program on nuisance abatement they offer at the next council meeting, and it is something Siggins wants the council to listen to and consider.
Siggins said that many of the non-compliant residents have been really good when it has been drawn to their attention, but the issue gets a little harder on homes that have been foreclosed or abandoned.
