The Lisbon girls were ninth at state, a result head coach Casey Baxa was terrific.
“Anytime you can bring a trophy home, and be in the top 10 any season is tremendous, and for these athletes to do that two seasons in a row is absolutely amazing, in my opinion,” Baxa said.
Additionally, “the girls team did an unbelievable job breaking four school records at the meet, and placing in four relays,” said Baxa.
Lourdes Mason was able to break her own personal record in the girls 1,500 and girls 3000 runs, and Mason’s time in the 3,000 broke her own school record.
The 4X100 meter squad of Addy Happel, Ava Czarnecki, Mia Petersen and Peyton Robinson set a season best score in preliminaries with 51.37 seconds and broke that personal best with a 51.28 finish for fifth place. The 51.28 finish is also a school record for Lisbon in that event.
The girls’ 4×800 meter squad of Gabi Moehlman, Addie Clark, Maeve Krogman and Lourdes Mason set another school record with 10:06.06 at the state meet with their fourth place finish.
The girls’ sprint distance medley squad of Peyton Robinson, Ava Czarnecki, Addie Clark and Lourdes Mason set a school record in their 4:22.91 time. That earned them a sixth place finish at state.
