The Mount Vernon boys varsity team placed 11th Monday, May 9, at the WaMac Super Meet in Marion before coming in fifth Wednesday evening in the 2022 Sectionals at Pin Oak Country Club to wrap their season.
Monday, May 9Beckman Catholic took the top spot at the WaMac Super Meet with a team score of 325. Solon was second, with a 331. The Mustangs took 11th place with a score of 379
Nolan Jackson, a junior for the Mustangs, shot the low score for his team with a 91, coming in 27th overall in the crowded field.
Wednesday, May 11 The squad traveled to West Delaware for sectionals at Pin Oaks Country Club, placing fifth out of eight teams in their final event of the season. Cooper Parks, a sophomore for the Mustangs, shot the low score for Mount Vernon with an 87, which was enough for 12th place. Teammate Nolan Jackson was right behind in 13th, carding an 89.
