Lisbon public works director Travis Bagby said that the public works crew needs to repaint the splash pad yet this year. Bagby said the project needs three to five days without rain to be completed.
“My hope is we’re able to get this completed and be on task to open on Memorial Day Monday as we have in the past, but there is a chance the painting could delay that opening by a few days,” Bagby said. “We’re going to do everything we can to get open by or as close to Memorial Day as we can.”
The rain has also lengthened the new light poles installation at the park, but city administrator Brandon Siggins said the lights should now be up.
“I have to give kudos to the guys who worked on the project even in these rainy conditions, the new lights look sharp and the ground around the fields looks nice, all things considered,” Siggins said.
The area around the lights may look rough, but the light poles are on the exterior of any playing surfaces. Spectators may encounter some rougher areas this early summer as grass is getting re-established around the lights.
