The Mount Vernon boys track team took second place at last week’s Anamosa Co-Ed, and placed ninth out of 13 teams two nights later in a crowded field.
Tuesday, April 26The Mustangs placed second at the Anamosa Co-Ed, with 94 to first-place Lisbon’s 125.
Two school records were recorded by Mount Vernon at the event, in both the 4×100 and 4×200 relays. Jackson Rhomberg, Caden Stimmel, and Trenton Pitlik ran both races, while Owen Brase featured in the 200, and Leo Appleton in the 100.
Thursday, April 28
The Paucha Relays at Beckman Catholic featured 13 teams, with the Mustangs placing ninth with a score of 31.
Solon took the top spot with 156.
