Lions Club

The Mount Vernon Lions Club met on Monday, April 25, at Gwen’s Restaurant in Llsbon. Al Henstrom from a club in Washington state was visiting and helping organize a new Lions club in Ely which is being sponsored by the Mount Vernon Club.
Rick Elliott introduced with speaker for the evening, Tayrn Kuntz who is the new head of the Mount Vernon Community School District Foundation. She also coaches other non-profit and fund-raising organizations. She spoke about the importance of public/private partnerships in the philanthropy community and took several questions from the members about the Foundation.
The next Lions Club meeting is on Monday, May 9, also at Gwen’s when Doug Shannon will have the program.
