Mount Vernon and Lisbon hosted Easter Egg hunts this weekend. More than 3,000 eggs were hidden at the Mount Vernon Easter Egg Dash Saturday morning. Attendees braved slightly chilly temperatures at the events, both of which were returning to in-person events this year.
At Lisbon, three eggs were provided by participants, and then they got to hunt for the eggs in the city parks, with those finding eggs fastest in their age group, getting a prize basket.
Saturday morning also saw the return of the Mount Vernon Fire Department pancake breakfast. According to assistant fire chief Derek Boren, the department served more than 1,500 people, a record for the department’s breakfasts, in the six hours the breakfast ran at the fire station.
