The Lisbon varsity girls’ golf squad teed off on the 2022 season Monday, April 4, in Colesburg at Lone Pine Country Club.
The Lions came out on top over their two competitors, shooting a 205 as a team. Ed-Co placed second with 229, while Springville ended with 258.
Karlee Luneckas, a junior, and Kaylie Kelchen, a sophomore, each earned medals for the event, tying for the low score of 44. Both girls, along with sophomore Brooke Ellyson, are returning letter-winners.
“The girls played well,” said head coach Andrew Kahl, who is assisted by Brian Hall.
“Posting a team score of 205 is a solid way to start the season. Kaylie and Karlee were solid all day. A few new girls made their varsity debut, and they handled it great. There’s high expectations for this group, and they’ll continue to work hard and improve each week.”
