Cornell’s top four women’s tennis players went undefeated Thursday afternoon as the Rams defeated Martin Luther, 6-3, in the team’s penultimate dual meet of the season inside the Small Sport Center Arena.
Emmaline Fievet and Makayla Johnson shut out the Knights’ No. 1 doubles team, 8-0. Cornell’s No. 2 tandem of Ashley Mink and Amanda Dragon also rolled with an 8-2 victory.
Fievet notched her 74th career victory with a 6-1, 6-2 decision at the No. 1 singles position. The senior improved to 12-9 in singles action this season.
Johnson recorded a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles. Mink was a 6-1, 6-1 victor at No. 3, while Dragon scored a 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 4.
Kylie Jacobson and Kaylanna Seu came up short at No. 3 doubles and in their respective singles matches.
The Rams (7-13) close the season April 10 with a 3 p.m. home meet against Central on Senior Day.
