Cornell’s women’ tennis team ran into a tough matchup against NCAA Division II Truman State Saturday, falling 9-0 inside the Small Sport Center Arena.
The Rams moved to 6-13 on the season, while Truman State bumped its record to 10-2.
Cornell No. 3 player Ashley Mink provided the most resistance in singles play, dropping a 6-3, 6-4 decision to Samantha Seggerman. Emmaline Fievet lost 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1. Truman State rolled in the other four singles matches.
Cornell’s No. 1 doubles pair of Fievet and Makayla Johnson came up short, 8-3. The Rams lost 8-2 at No. 2, and 8-1 at No. 3.
The Rams play host to Martin Luther at 1 p.m. Thursday.
