Summer hours of operation began at both Cedar Rapids Linn County Solid Waste Agency locations.
The landfill and recycling location, 1954 County Home Road, Marion, is open:
7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday – Friday
Saturdays are by appointment or commercial account only. Appointments are required for all loads, even recycling only loads from customers without a commercial account.

The compost and yard waste location, 2250 A Street SW, Cedar Rapids is open:
8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday – Friday
8 a.m. to noon Saturday
A reminder for those using the compost location in Cedar Rapids, the Mount Trashmore trails and overlook will be opening later this spring when the weather and trail conditions permit.
A couple other spring reminders:
Agency staff are busy getting the site picked up and clear of all the debris that was hidden under the snow and ice. They will be along the haul road and fence lines, so please watch your speed, stay off cell phones, and be aware of your surroundings.
If you see the Agency’s roll-off truck going around the line at the landfill, please know that is because the residential unloading area is full and staff are trying to keep that area moving so smaller residential vehicles do not go to the landfill and get in the way of the larger garbage trucks and trailers.
