The Mount Vernon-Lisbon Community Development Group annual report has been released to the community.
If you get a chance, look at the accomplishments that the group had in 2021. It’s a testament to the work of volunteers and action in this community that items like Heritage Days becoming a MVLCDG event and Mount Vernon collecting $50,000 in the Cold Turkey contest for park and trail work in the city.
It highlights the work the organization has done to help businesses in the community, with multiple businesses receiving grants due to coaching and helping with applications.
And it highlights partnerships the organization has had with multiple groups in the community.
It highlights the way MVLCDG has come back from a year without festivals in person and found ways to serve the community once again.
It notes the increased number of community hours and the businesses in the uptown Mount Vernon community that make up the businesses in uptown Mount Vernon.
It’s a reminder of the many ways community development plays parts in the elements of uptown Mount Vernon.
