Libby Dix (172) placed first in the WaMaC girls conference wrestling tournament. Dix had a bye in the quarterfinals and she won by fall over Emilee Suchomel of Solon. She then won by fall over Caitlyn Williams of Clear-Creek Amana for the first place win.
Mount Vernon’s Claire Gaffney (122) picked up a third place finish. Claire had a bye in the championship round, and then won by fall over Kiley Fiser of Vinton Shellsburg in the quarterfinal match. Gaffney then lost in the semifinals by fall to Emma Mathis of Clear Creek-Amana. Gaffney wrestled back in consolation to win over Shannon Finn of Williamsburg by fall and then won by fall against Teagan Schreiber of Clear-Creek Amana.
Betsy Morf wrestled, but did not place. She took a loss by fall against Ava Garcia of Williamsburg in the championship round. She faced Kiley Fiser of Vitnon-Shellsburg in a consolation round, where she lost by fall as well.
Earlier in the week, Gaffney picked up a loss by fall against Teagan Schreiber from Clear Creek-Amana, and Betsy Morf got a fall to Marliee McBride of Clear Creek Amana.
In matches against Central DeWitt, Gaffney picked up a win by fall over Conner Pena. Morf took a loss by fall against Grace Patterson of Central DeWitt.
