The Mount Vernon varsity wrestling team won in dual action last Thursday at Clear Creek-Amana, while coming in third place at Saturday’s Marion Invitational.
Thursday, Jan. 13Earning wins at the Clear Creek-Amana match for Mount Vernon were Klayten Perreault (106), Riley Mudd (120), Jackson Jaspers (138), Trystin Lashley (145), Henry Ryan (152), Jackson Hird (160), Ryder Bunch (170), Zatyk Holub (182), Ethan Wood (195), Clark Younggreen (220) and Trystin Lashley (285).
Saturday, Jan. 15The Mustangs placed third out of 13 teams at the Marion Invitational, while Clark Younggreen took home a title from the event.
Henry Ryan placed second at the tournament.
Perreault and Jaspers placed third at the event.
Tristin Nosbisch and Hird earned a fourth place finish at the event.
Mudd, Wood, Lashley and Bunch placed fifth at the event.
The team will host its final home match of the season Thursday, Jan. 20, which will also serve as Senior Night.
