Sgt. Scott Reyhons was honored as Clinton American Legion Post 190’s Law Enforcement officer of the year in October.
Reyhons, a Mount Vernon high school alumnus and veteran, serves as a sergeant with the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office.
He was recognized for his actions in responding to a domestic incident in rural Charlotte in January 2020. Upon arriving and approaching the residence, Reyhons was shot. He received injuries to his arm, hands and face. By putting himself in harm’s way, he was given the Law Enforcement Officer of the Year honor.
Reyhons has served with the Clinton County law enforcement department since 1993, when he began as a communications operator. He joined the reserve deputy ranks in 1994 and was later hired as a full-time deputy. He worked in Clinton County Jail in 2001 and was transferred to the patrol division in 2003.
