The Mount Vernon Mustangs volleyball tournament is making a return to the state vvolleyball tournament this week, after a win at the regional final Tuesday, Oct. 26 at Wiliamsburg over Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont.
The Mustangs first contest at the state tournament was against West Liberty (contest results were not available at press time).
The winner of that game will advance to face the winner of Des Moines Christian and Davenport Assumption to be played Wednesday, Nov. 3 at 2 p.m.
The Class 3A Championship match will be played Thursday, Nov. 4 at 2:30 p.m.
