Cornell College first-year students moved into dorms and started their new student orientation days last week.
Those new student activities included a day of service, where students had the opportunity to complete a number of community service projects for area organizations Saturday, Aug. 21.
Cleaning up trails at Palisades-Kepler State Park, helping to care for horses at Unbridled Spirits in rural Lisbon or helping at Morning Glory were among the tasks students could choose from.
At Morning Glory, students helped with removing roots from onions and garlic plants, preparing bags of potatoes for market, clearing weeds from strawberry plants and other tasks as needed at the farm.
