Mount Vernon football BlitzThe Mount Vernon Football team will hold their annual blitz fundraiser Saturday, Aug. 14. The event is open for adults only and will be held at the Regal Crown Reception Hall.
Doors open for the event at 5 p.m., with $10 tickets per person. A total of 300 tickets are available. Dinner, games, raffles, live acution, and music by Rattlebox will be included at the event. Tickets can be purchased by contacting Dan Ketchum at 319-360-3546 or emailing [email protected].
Fall sports registration The Mount Vernon Parks and Recreation department are taking registration for fall sports now.
Co-ed soccer leagues will be offered for children in alternative kindergarten through sixth grade aged youth. Registration deadline is Friday, Aug. 13, with coaches meeting slated for 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19.
Co-ed flag football leagues will be offered for youth in first through sixth grade. Registration deadline is Friday, Aug. 13. Coaches meeting is slated for 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19.
The football buddies program is also open for youth in alternative kindergarten and kindergarten, with registration deadline for Friday, Aug. 27.
