Lisbon Sauerkraut Days was another success.
There were brats and sauerkraut, as promised.
Sure, there was some iffy weather on Thursday, but the ice cream social and fireworks were able to move forward.
Without rides, the committee was able to expand the number of food vendors for the weekend.
There were new events that were added to the three-day event – a teen dance for area youth in downtown Lisbon, the Lisbon Library’s trivia contest, the new kid zone and a return of brat and kraut eating contests.
We had good music from returning local musicians, as well as Lonesome Road and New Trick.
We had the king and queens crowned, the returns of the Kraut Route 5K, the parade and Cabbage Head Car Show and the ever-fun bathtub races in downtown Lisbon.
It was great to have a chance to catch up with our neighbors after a year of no such events happening in many of our communities.
The committee did a lot to pivot and do what they proposed – find something for all ages of youth, adults and the community to enjoy for this three day festival. Kudos to the organizers and volunteers who helped make this event a success.
