The Mount Vernon Marching Mustangs culminated their marching band camp week with the rescheduled Parade-A-Thon fundraiser Friday, Aug. 6. The Mustangs held two marching treks in Mount Vernon, from First Street Community Center down to Don Stine’s home in northern Mount Vernon. After the concert at Stine’s home, the Mustangs marched through the Stonecreek Housing neighborhood. According to Sherene Player, the fundraiser was one of the band’s most successful, raising more than $2,683 during the evening’s events. The fundraiser helps the band members raise money for their trip to Chicago, Ill., planned for later this fall.
