One person was hurt in a crash that occurred early Saturday morning.
According to the Linn County Sheriff’s Department, local emergency services responded to a crash on Hwy. 1 near Ink Road at 6 a.m..
On arrival, officers discovered that a tan 1998 Oldsmobile was southbound on Hwy. 1 approaching Mount Vernon when the driver lost control and went into the west ditch. The vehicle continued in the ditch, ramped a field driveway, and came back out onto the roadway.
The driver and only occupant of the vehicle, Kasper John Heiken of Wyoming, Iowa, was transported to an area hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
The Mount Vernon-Lisbon Police Department, Mount Vernon Fire Department, Lisbon-Mount Vernon Ambulance Service responded to the crash along with Linn County deputies.
