Editor's note: A preview of the Cornell College baseball team and season ran on the front page of the March 16, 1916, Mount Vernon Hawkeye under News of the College. It mentions contracts offered by the Cedar Rapids Bunnies and the Philadelphia Athletics. Additionally, the Hawkeye ran a front page story stating that "public health, comfort and convenience demand that a city be kept clean," and the best way to accomplish the feat is a cooperative cleanup campaign.
